We  plan  for  your experience at West LA Hand Center to be an excellent one. To further that goal, we want you to be fully informed about our insurance and payment policies. Please also feel free to contact our office with any questions.

PPO: Dr. Freedman is an out of network provider for all PPO insurance companies. We will collect payment at the time of service and submit the claim to your insurance company as a courtesy. If you have any out of network benefits that allow for reimbursement, the insurance company will pay out according to your coverage and your plan for an out of network provider.

Medicare: Dr. Freedman is contracted with the federally funded Medicare Program. Medicare will pay 80% of the charge according to the Medicare fee schedule. Medicare supplement plans may cover that 20%. If they do not, you will be responsible to pay that balance. If you do not have a secondary insurance, you will be responsible to pay the 20% that Medicare does not pay at the time of service.  
If you have Medi-Cal or a Medi-Cal Managed Care Plan as a secondary, you will be responsible to pay the 20% that Medicare does not cover. If we find that your Medicare plan is not the federally funded Medicare plan after services are rendered, you will be responsible for 100% of all charges.

Medi-Cal and Medi-Cal Managed Care Plans: We do not contract with Medi-Cal (the state of California’s Medicaid program) or Medi-Cal Managed Care Plans (plans through established networks of organized systems). If you have either of these plans, you will be considered a cash patient and payment is to be made day of service.
